About Iris | On to LA

At age 9, Iris took a leap beyond her home state—traveling to Los Angeles with her mom to film a sizzle reel for the television pilot Badland Wives, directed by Stephen S. Campanelli. The project explored the untold stories of the women behind infamous Wild West outlaws, with Iris cast as Sunshine, the spirited eight-year-old sister of one of the wives.

Filmed on an expansive, authentic Western set, the experience was transformative. For the first time, Iris stepped into the full scale of a professional production—surrounded by elaborate lighting setups, dynamic camera work, bustling crews, background actors, and entire teams dedicated to hair, makeup, and costume design. It was a world far bigger than anything she had known, and she took in every detail.

The trip marked a true turning point. What began as a simple suggestion in a pediatrician’s office now felt vivid and undeniable. Watching the pieces of storytelling come together, Iris discovered not just a passion—but a calling. By the end of the trip, she had secured both an LA manager and agent, returning home not only inspired, but fully stepping into her future in the industry.
